UNIBA, with currently over 43,000 students, is one of the largest generalist Universities in Italy with 22 Departments, covering all fields of research from basic to R&D. Its scientific community consists of more than 1.500 faculty members (professors and researchers) and proposes 127 graduate programs (5 in English) and 23 Ph.D. programs.
UNIBA is strongly oriented to gender equality and denies every kind of discrimination, as proved by the recently approved gender-balance plan.
Innovation and entrepreneurship play a central role in UNIBA, and this leads to many initiatives, among which the creation, in 2018, of the “Innovation and Creativity Centre” and the contamination laboratory named “BaLab”.

The opening session will take place in the central building of the University of Bari Aldo Moro.

From the second day, the conference venue will be the University Campus "Ernesto Quagliarello".

Bari is a multifaceted city, known as the “Gateway to the East” due to its long tradition of trade. Today, this dynamic city, nestled in the heart of the countryside punctuated by white dry-stone walls, is an important university hub, but the town of Bari Vecchia and the surrounding area, show that this capital of Apulia is rich in history. The famous Bari promenade, one of the most beautiful in Italy, overlooks the clear sea and the unique charm of Bari.
